Lakewood Ranch Quality of Life About to Increase Exponentially in Florida

Why? Because right now, a new 800,000 sq. ft. mall is under construction nearby, which completion set for the fall of 2014!

This massive development will be located north of State Road 70 and is expected to feature everything from housing to retail to office space.

It is not an overstatement to say this project is going to change the face of Lakewood Ranch. So if you are considering investing in this community, you will definitely want to continue reading!

What You Can Expect from this New Lakewood Ranch Development

The new development known as Lakewood Centre is expected to be designed as a mixed-use town center, similar to Lakewood Ranch Main Street – but bigger!

This project, which the Manatee county commissioners first approved seven years ago, is a 697 acre project by Schroeder-Manatee Ranch Inc.

Here are some of the features that are expected to come in this development, which will be built out by 2026:

  • 4,683 residential units
  • 1.674 million sq. ft. of commercial space
  • 1,463 million sq. ft. of office space
  • A 300 room hotel that could rise as tall as 12 stories
  • 36.8 acres of park land

The project will share borders with Lakewood Ranch Boulevard in the east, Pope Road in the West, Malachite Drive in the north, and SR 70 in the south.

Although the Lakewood Centre isn’t expected to be completed for at least a decade, people are already quite excited about this development.

Meanwhile, work has started on the first of three phases for the project. It all started with the Lost Creek Resort Apartments complex on Lakewood Ranch Boulevard, which leased all 272 units within six months of opening in 2011.

Now a new complex, Creekside Apartments, is under construction. The building will be right next door and will feature 256 units.

Just south of that, construction crews are working on a 25,400-square-foot two story building for Intracoastal Medical Group, which will be the first office/commercial component for the project.

Not only will single-family homes be coming next to this project, but other developers have also started building single-family homes in the vicinity. Thus, even if they don’t end up living in the actual development, residents will have options to live in close proximity to all the amenities at the town centre.

These new single-family home developments include:

  • Taylor Morrison Home Builder’s Esplanade
  • Builder Lennar’s Bridgewater
  • Neal Homes’ Central Park Neighgorhood

In all, these projects will put more than 2,800 homes all around the edge of Lakewood Centre.
