Independence Day is a special time in the greater Sarasota area. People come together to celebrate America’s birthday, and it’s always an exciting time.
Whether you prefer a laid-back neighborhood barbecue or a no-expenses-spared fireworks extravaganza, there’s a whole lot to do in Sarasota to celebrate 4th of July.
Here are three Sarasota events you can’t miss.
Sarasota Bay Fireworks
It’s the classic Sarasota Fireworks! Head over to the Bayfront Park at 1 Marina Plaza early to get a good seat—you’re not going to want to miss the show!
Fireworks start promptly at 9 p.m. and will last around 30 minutes.
The beautiful Marie Selby Botanical Gardens is the perfect venue for this all-ages event! DJ Karolina Lira will be there spinning fun tunes while Michael’s on East’s Grill will be selling delicious hot dogs, hamburgers, and other all-American fare.
Enjoy food, live music, childrens’ activities, and more as you celebrate Independence Day with your friends and neighbors. Bring blankets and chairs to enjoy the fireworks once the sun sets!
Sounds of Independence
Ready for some classical music in a beautiful setting? Then the annual Sounds of Independence Concert by the Choral Artists of Sarasota is the perfect way to spend Independence Day.
The performance is about 2 hours long with an intermission, and features patriotic pieces from American history. Perfect for residents of all ages, this is a more tranquil alternative to traditional 4th of July celebrations.
